4. And the way of composing of Tuomas: was it different this time?

I believe that it is a little early to be able to affirm with certainty which kind of album the next one will be. But what I could hear of the demonstrations does not sound badly in the same vein, that remains in the same kind of music as what there was already on Once. It will be always in the same direction.

5. You launched recruitment a campaign, a casting by this advertisement on your Web site. How that does it occur?

You want to say in our search for a new singer?

6. Yes, yes...

We thus officially published this official statement in Mars, according to which we were finally officially in the search of a new singer, and for this month, we have already received between 400 and 450 demonstrations, and we let us receive from them 10 more to 15 tous.les.jours. And you must realize well that that enormously made job that of all to listen to them, but we listen to each demonstration which reaches us for finally, later in the year, to make a decision as for our new singer.

7. And you have already somebody in sight for the station of singer?

You must think that there was an enormous diversity in the demonstrations. There were very good singers, others not as good as that, and as we are not really pressed, we take all our time to select our new singer. We take all the time that we need, and as I said it, we receive more demonstrations each day, then we will wait until less the end of the summer, beginning of the autumn before making our final decision as for the replacement of Tarja.

8. You think of having an idea of which?

There are already some potential candidates... But we negotiated yet with none them, we want to still wait. One never knows which kind of angels can still make its appearance.

9. Then I saw that there were already fourteen songs of written for the new album.

In fact, not. There are of them already seventeen, I believe. I have just received the demonstrations of fifteen songs, two weeks ago, and I believe that Tuomas still composed two of them of more.

10. And do the songs have already a title?

In fact, there is nothing sure yet because Tuomas writes the final texts. The titles could change, therefore that would not be used for nothing to reveal them now.

11. Let us come now in your live "End Of An Era". How do you feel with the passing, compared to this concert, with all the means which were implemented there and all the public which had answered present this evening? More especially as it was the last with Tarja...

The show in itself, I believe that it was the best show of Nightwish than we ayions ever given. And it was super which that occurred on the last concert, that we recorded for the DVD. The show itself was wholesale the same kind of shows that we made on "Towards The Old Ones Tour". We played all the songs which we played during one year and half. It was only one concert among others, but well-sure it was larger. There were 11 500 people and that was a little special because it was the last show of the "Ounce Tower" and that it was the last show with Tarja. There was thus a certain atmosphere.

12. There is a surprise on this DVD: a recovery by the flutist John Two-Hawks, who came to play this song before joining you on "Creek Mary' S Blood". How did you meet it? Under which conditions did occur this collaboration?

When we were going to record the album "Ounce", two years ago, Tuomas had the idea to make this song "Creek Mary' S Blood", which tells the history of an Indian of America, and it was natural to have an Indian of America to do a little song on our song, and which also plays of the flute. Tuomas simply went on Internet and I believe that it just typed "Native American Indian" and I believe that it is the first thing which appeared. Go ahead to make a turn and throws an ear on one of its samples in MP3.

13. And why to have chosen flute rather than of the Indian percussions, for example?

It is a good question. There are also pretty exotic percussions on "Creek Mary' S Blood", played by a guy of which I do not remember any more the name, but it is an English. But as John played in solo, it was rather obvious for him to play of the flute on this song. One can say that it came naturally.

14. With which kind of no-claims bonus can one expect on the DVD?

Concurrently to these 18 songs which we exploited our last concert, there will be a photo gallery, with photographs taken during our last concert; there will be documentary 55 minutes, filmed at the time two last weeks of the Once round, when we were in South America Ca begins again in fact the two last weeks before the concert with Hartwall Arena.

15. It seems that "End Of An Era" will not be distributed apart from Europe. It is true?

We had contractual problems but there were some negotiations between our management, that of Tarja and the houses of discs, and even if we did not sign a contract yet at the present time, the things seem to be well engaged and we will be able to surely leave this DVD in the whole world. But as I said it, nothing is yet sure, since we need these signatures.

16. What does that have to see with Tarja?

In fact, I do not know. I do not include/understand really their opinion as for the reason for which they do not sign the contracts, because it is also in their interest to leave this DVD in the whole world, because they receive their share on the sales. In fact, I do not know the reason of it. But let us hope that it will leave everywhere in the world!

17. And you can to also speak us about the book on Nightwish which soon will leave, the next month I believe

Yes, it leaves on May 11 to Finland, and there are in this moment even people who translate it into English and also into German. There will be of them thus versions in English and in German available later in the year, I think, but there is nothing still sure. There is no date of exit of envisaged. The book is based only on the history of Nightwish until now, and I make a point of stressing that it Na not written by members of the group. We were interviewed for this book, like twenty or thirty other people close to the group; and this book was written by Mappe Ollila, and it is a little an external point of view compared to what occurred in Nightwish, on what is Nightwish, on which kind of Nightwish career carried out until now.

18. I know that you are not badly occupied with your parallel projects. Where you find time to repeat, etc... All to mix (Nightwish and other groups)?

We were in pause for six months, and we are now in the phase of repetition, at the beginning of June. I do not have in fact taken part in any parallel project at this time, but the other guy have their own projects. Marco works on the album of Tarot, Tuomas made an album with another Finn, and Emppu has its project Brother Fire Tribe. But we adore to play, and when you like the music, you always find time to make the things which you like.

19. Me, I believed that you were not badly occupied with a parallel project... It is what I had read, in any case...

This time, I did not have a parallel project. I have right past of time with my family and my two young children. Here: it is that, my project! (laughter)

20. And you think that it is more important to pass from time in family or with the group?

One got along rather well with my wife. It is with it that in cost all the merit. It takes the fact really well that I can from go away for one month, or two, even more. But when we are not in round, I as much as possible try to be at the house and to return the similar one to them.

21. You know that Nuclear Blast will leave "End Of An Era" out of special box and that it will not be dispo that on their catalogue of VPC. What do you think of all this kind of boxes?

It is a delicate question. They is always the "customers" or the fans who decide to buy several different versions. Then, I believe that it is a bad thing to carry out several versions of the same album. Of course, is needed that that has a direction some share, one should not always bring out the same album with simply some titles no-claims bonus. But as I said it to you, nobody N needs really to buy it, the decision is always allocated to the fans. Ca does not obstruct me, but I buy always only one version of the albums of groups which I like.

22. And you think that there will be individual which will accompany the exit by "End Of An Era", which will leave at the same time in DVD and CD?

Not, not. Not the individual one. All will leave in at the same time.

23. And I was going to forget your reward, for the album more sold in Finland in 2005.
Did Ca do what to you?

It was a really pleasant surprise! We did not leave anything again. It was only one compilation, "Highest Hopes", which had left in October, I believe; and that was an enormous surprise to have been the group having sold last year more. But of course, they is always sympathetic to receive a reward and to see that there are many people who buy your discs. But to be honest, it was a little strange.

24. And you believe that it is because the Finnish scene is related to Metal?

I believe that Finland is one of the rare countries where the groups of Metal, Rock'n'roll and Hard rock are Masters in the charts. There is always in signal 10, whether they are groups Finnish or coming from outside. It is something of positive!

25. In France, it is rather rare to have of Metal in the charts, with share perhaps Iron Maiden during one week...

Yes, or Metallica, this kind of tricks... Greatest groups.

26. And to finish, if you have a message to make pass to our readers and to your fans, go ahead!

What should I say? Ca posed a certain problem these last six months for which we have given this concert to Hartwall Arena and that we separated from Tarja. And it would be said that all people around the group are panicked than the group itself! We are quieter and we are sure to find good replacing in Tarja. Take the things carefully, benefit from the life and see what the future will bring to us!
