A new territorial conquest

The jewelry line that carries Tarja Turunen's name tells of freedom and self-confidence.

Tarja Turunen has been blessed with more than just musical talent. The two year long hard work with the jewelry line is over and the final outcome is polished and seems to be the style of Nightwish's former star.
- I have always loved jewelry. For a performing artist they're as important as clothes, they have to fit the whole package and tell something about your personality, she told in the collection's display occasion.
What do the dark beauty's trinkets tell about?
- Self-confidence and freedom. They fit into everyday life as well as a celebration.
The baubles are made of silver. Tarja still considers gold too valuable for herself.
- Developing the collection was a big adventure for me. I was also intrested in jewels. I'd like to see how they're cut, she dreams.
The singer has distinguished by spending the hot summer in the studio, furthermore in a very christmas like athmosphere. She has been working on a christmas album, which release is followed by a consert tour later this year.
- Before that I'm going to pop in to my second home in Buenos Aires which I have missed. It's not a vacation, I'm going to dance lessons there and also teach my own students. I'll come back to Finland in November. Tarja thinks the passed year with happy thoughts despite all the fuss. She doesn't admit missing the Nightwish times. Though the fans will always have a special place in her heart. It's been a rewarding and surprising year. I have intentionally focused on classical music. Next year is a time for new things. Then we'll see if my solo career catches on.

10 hot of the week
Tarja Turunen who is heading for her christmas tour has already sold gold with her christmas album titled Henkäys Ikuisuudesta. The soprano would like to see some snow in Finland - not just water, fog and slush. "The want to sleep late on mornings is big" Tarja laughs and thanks for the support she has gotten.

My upcoming christmas tour. I have been busy with it for the past weeks.

The rain, fog and slush. All the beautiful snow has melted.

Red high heels with an otherwise black outfit!

Berlin. I spent a week there for work and I couldn't complain since the climate felt as warm as on spring.

5. Song of the week
'Many to many' by Genesis. I'm so happy that one of my favourite bands is coming to play in Finland soon.

6. Joyful thing of the week
My new coffee maker. Moccamaster has got first-class aromas and the machine works fine.

7. Irritation of the week
It so hard to get out of bed in the morning when it's so gray and you're missing the sun. The want to sleep late on mornings is really big.

8. Hottest name of the week
Bond. James Bond.

9. Gig food of the week
Ceaser salad with chicken, no mayonnaise.

10. Mistake of the week
I haven't done one mistake this week, but surely hundreds while training for the tour with my band. They say practise makes perfect so I shoudn't worry if that's true.
